I got this tidbit from a recent newsletter from BigThink:
University of Virginia psychology professor and author of The Happiness Hypothesis, Jonathan Haidt, says the easiest way to live a happy life is to get your relationships right- between yourself and others, yourself and work, and yourself and something larger than yourself. Intensive research into ancient and modern psychology and philosophy, he says, had led him to one conclusion: “Work in pursuit of a noble end in a way that uses your strengths.”
Now I know why I love my job so much.

Thank you for sharing that. Happiness is when you are no longer at odds with yourself and I think this quotation captures the essence of that.

Great article. It is very unfortunate that over the last one decade, the travel industry has had to take on terrorism, SARS, tsunamis, bird flu, swine flu, as well as the first ever entire global recession. Through it all the industry has really proven to be solid, resilient plus dynamic, obtaining new strategies to deal with trouble. There are often fresh complications and the opportunity to which the industry must again adapt and behave.
