		<description><![CDATA[While I&#039;ve been giving of my time and my money for more years that I can remember, I didn&#039;t have a word to describe it until my dear departed friend Herb Kaplan taught me the Hebrew word “tzedakah,” which describes the acts we call charity. The root of tzedakah means righteousness, justice or fairness. Herb and I shared that belief in the power and obligation of philanthropy.]]></description>
